Permits and immigration

Moving non-EU staff to Italy

Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Icelandic citizens can work in Italy without a permit. Many Nordic teams, though, include engineers from India, Ukraine, Brazil or the US. They need an Italian work permit before they move. We act as employer and sponsor.

Two routes

Salary threshold 2026: about €36,300 gross a year [official reference to confirm]

Ordinary work permit

Under the annual quota system (Decreto Flussi, planning 2026–2028). Timing depends on the quota windows.
